  80. The Black Swan is quick, powerful, small,
  81. inexpensive and easy to use HTML editor
  82. able to design very sophisticated web pages,
  83. HTML help files or any documents written
  84. in Hyper Text MarkUp Language (HTML).
  85. Black Swan provides a set of visual
  86. development tools and professionally
  87. designed templates allowing you quickly
  88. design web pages.

  90. Black Swan is a stand-alone program, and
  91. does not require any other expensive programs
  92. like word processors or HTML validators
  93. for designing complete web pages, ready
  94. to go to the Internet. Black Swan is
  95. oriented to all users ranging from
  96. occasional home or business development
  97. to professional web page designers.

  99. Black Swan provides a set of powerful web
  100. page visual development tools covering
  101. whole web page design cycle and it gives
  102. an user a possibility to create a complete web
  103. page, ready to go on the web.

  105. The Tag Inspector is a powerful visual tool
  106. which enables you to insert any HTML tag
  107. or attribute into the web page in just a few
  108. seconds.

  110. The HTML language is becoming bigger and
  111. changing very quickly. There are already more
  112. than 90 tags, some of them have 12 and more
  113. attributes, but Tag Inspector takes care
  114. about that. All you have to do - run the
  115. Tag Inspector.

  128.  2. MINIMUM SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
  129. ----------------------------------------
  130. Black Swan requires Windows 95/NT 
  131. operating system, an 80486 or better
  132. processor and 8Mb of system memory.
  133.  
  134. A full installation of Black Swan requires
  135. approximately 7.5 Mbytes of hard disk space.

  138.  3. INSTALLATION
  139. ----------------------------------------
  140. To install Black Swan, run SETUP.EXE.
  141. This can be run on either
  142. Windows 95/98, NT3.51/4.0.
  143.  
  144. By default, Black Swan installs into the
  145. \Program Files\Black Swan HTML Editor
  146. directory.This assumes you have used the
  147. default directory structure.
  148.  
  149. Installation Notes
  150. -------------------
  151.  
  152. - In the Set Directories dialog, the Browse
  153.   button displays a Choose Directory dialog
  154.   that allows you to select a root directory
  155.   where all your files will be installed.
  156.   On some systems, browsing to a drive other
  157.   than C:\ will give an erroneous message
  158.   indicating that the drive is not available.
  159.   When this happens, simply type in the
  160.   path name directly and the drive will be
  161.   recognized.
  162.  
  163. - Setup automatically sets the target directory
  164.   for the Borland Database Engine to the location
  165.   of any existing BDE. Setup program gives you a
  166.   warning if BDE is detected on your computer.
  167.   When this happens, simply answer "Yes".
  168.

  172. 4. PARTIAL BORLAND DATABASE ENGINE
  173.    INSTALLATION
  174. ----------------------------------------
  175.  
  176. Black Swan comes with partial Borland Database
  177. Engine in order to reduce application size and time
  178. of downloading.
  179.  
  180. A Partial BDE install imposes the
  181. following limitations:
  182.  
  183. - No two BDE Client applications can run
  184.   on the same machine at the same time.
  185.   If a BDE Client application is already
  186.   running on your system you will receive
  187.   the following error message on startup:
  188.  
  189.   "An Error occurred while attempting to
  190.    initialize to Borland Database Engine
  191.    (Error $210C)"
  192.  
  193. If you have this error quit Paradox for
  194. Windows, dBASE for Windows, Delphi,
  195. Quattro Pro , ReportSmith and other
  196. programs using the Borland Database Engine.
  197.  
  198. - A Partial BDE install must place BDE DLL
  199.   files in your program's run directory.
  200.  
  201. If you have already Borland Database Engine
  202. on your computer you will get the following
  203. message:
  204.  
  205. "Setup has detected the Borland Database
  206. Engine (BDE) on this system. Continuing with
  207. setup will install a partial version of BDE
  208. in a different directory, which may cause
  209. problems when both versions of BDE are being
  210. used. We recommend that you contact the
  211. supplier of this application to obtain a full
  212. version of BDE compatible with this
  213. application. Continue with setup ? "
  214.  
  215. Answer "Yes" on this question.

  218.  5. DEFAULT DIRECTORY STRUCTURE

  221. when you run the program first time :

  258.  6. UNINSTALLING BLACK SWAN
  259. ----------------------------------------

  261. Un-install program will not check to see
  262. if your application is running when you try
  263. to un-install, and may leave some files on disk.
  264. To avoid this problem, make sure that you
  265. shut down your application prior to un-installing.
  266.  
  267. To remove Black Swan from your computer:
  268.  
  269.     1.  Open the Control Panel folder
  270.     2.  Double-click the Add/Remove Programs icon
  271.     3.  Select Black Swan from the list display
  272.     4.  Click the Add/Remove button
  273.     5.  Click the Yes button to remove the software
  274.     and all related files
  275.  
  276. In accordance with Microsoft uninstall conventions,
  277. the uninstall program will ask before removing any
  278. shared files such as those related to the
  279. Borland Database Engine.
